Print Your Very Own Fancy Chocolate - Huh?
Published December 6th, 2007 in Computers, Fabrication, inventorHey there! This one’s for the serial inventor or anyone who has a loved one obsessed with inventing. Roboticist Hod Lipson has brought us a portable invention box, called a “ fabber“, which is a 3D printer (rapid prototyping machine). Now, I know some of you are saying why the heck is she writin’ about this? Well, this would be an awesome gift for the serial inventor - even if you just refer them to the website; which was recently launched by Lipson and and his graduate student Evan Malone.
You can build your own fabber or buy one already built. Commercial 3D printer’s cost tens of thousands of dollars and this one costs roughly one tenth the cost of that! The plans for building one are on the Fab@Home website with a link to purchase one if your creative inventor would rather just get started. If anything at least refer them to the website - it’s full of information. Happy Inventing!
