Sierra Nevada Snow Transformed into Handmade Soaps

January 28th, 2008

Hey y’all! This one’s another fellow Nevada entrepreneur and she and her family have really unleashed their imagination with a combination of the Sierra Nevada snow and handmade soaps. Their company is appropriately named Sierra Snow Soaps and I read about this very creative family business in a Nevada Magazine gift ideas article.

Michelle gathers Sierra Nevada snow from the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe. They melt, boil and use the water in their handmade natural vegetable soaps using the cold process method in small batches. They use all natural ingredients so the soaps are mild and luxurious. A blend of olive, palm, coconut, rice bran, canola and castor oils, shea butter, essential oils or fragrance oils, chamomile, calendula, or lavender flowers make their handmade soaps a pleasant and moisturizing experience. Make sure to visit the Sierra Snow Soaps site to learn more about the soaps and what the company has to offer.

Hi Camilla, thank you for including me in your blog. We have been making soap for 8-9 years and love the business and the freedom it allows us to participate in the trade and the community. We have meet the nicest people at craft shows and we donate soaps and lotions to our local food closet to give to people in need of a little pampering. I am going to bookmark your blog and continue to check for other Nevada businesses.
    Thanks,
    Michelle from SierraSnowSoaps
