StinkyKids™ Unleashes Goodness

February 4th, 2008

Hey y’all! Sometimes I come across an entrepreneur whose idea moves me in such a way that I just can’t describe. I read about this very creative entrepreneur in a Ladies Who Launch newsletter. Britt Menzies really unleashed her imagination when she began the journey with her company, StinkyKids™. The company motto is “Always Be A Leader of Good”.

Menzies’ company all started with a small request from her 2 year old daughter in October of 2005. Her request was simply to have mommy paint her as a ballerina. That small request mixed with Britt Menzies imagination led to the creation of StinkyKids. Well, mommy’s drawing was loved and raved about by so many that several other kids were drawn and given names and personalities. The StinkyKids adorn t-shirts, merchandise and paintings. There is so much more to this company than beautifully illustrated kids that you just have to check out the so very cute site for yourself. The company motto of “Always Be A Leader of Good” is woven throughout the site.

The name of the company came about in discussions Menzies‘ had with her husband about what to name the company. They remembered that they used to call their son a “little stinker” for his innocently curious actions. This connected with me as I have recently found myself saying this to my 2 year old son.

The StinkyKids motto, “Always Be A Leader of Good”, is about teaching kids to make good decisions and not follow bad behavior. It simply tells them that it’s okay to be a “little stinker” and enjoy the curiousness and innocence of childhood; but when all is said and done to make the right choices.

The company itself follows this motto as 10% of profits are donated to Books, Bears & Bonnets to fight cancer. Make sure to visit the beautifully designed website to see all that StinkyKids has to offer.
