Cabana Life Unleashes Sun Protective Clothing
February 14th, 2008
Hey y’all! It’s no secret that many successful entrepreneurs turn something negative into a positive and create a successful business. At age 26 Melissa Marks Papock, founder of Cabana Life, was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. It turns out her clothing wasn’t protecting her back from sun damage. She discovered that ordinary light-weight clothing is the equivalent of about an SPF 5. I stumbled across Papock and Cabana Life in the December 2007 issue of Entrepreneur magazine.
Papock learned that there was sun protective clothing available; but, it was not at all attractive. So, with the help of her husband, she created Cabana Life in 2003. She introduced her first collection in 2005 offering stylish 100% cotton clothing for children and adults with 50+ UV protection through patented High IQ Sun Protection. You can purchase items from the nicely designed website and also locate an online retailer or physical retail shop.
